Abstract

In January 2023, six cities in Central Java combined experienced inflation of 0.32 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.7. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation.

The main cause of inflation in January 2023 is the increase in prices of rice, red chili, filter clove cigarettes, shallots, and cayenne pepper. The main restraints of inflation are falling prices for gasoline, purebred chicken eggs, air freight, tomatoes, and oranges.
