Abstract

In April 2023, six cities in Central Java combined experienced inflation of 0.28 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.57. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kudus City at 0.34 percent with a CPI of 114.50.

The main cause of inflation in April 2023 is the increase in prices of purebred chicken meat, inter-city transportation, filtered clove cigarettes, rice and cars. The main barrier to inflation is a decrease in the prices of air transportation, cayenne pepper, red chili, pure chicken eggs and cell phones.

The inflation rate for the calendar year April 2023 is 1.09 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2023 to April 2022) is 4.40 percent.
