Abstract

In August 2022, six cities in Central Java experienced deflation of 0.39 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 111.45. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced deflation.

The main cause of deflation in August 2022 was the decline in prices of shallots, red chili, air freight, cooking oil, and cayenne pepper. The main restraints of deflation were rising prices for non-foremen, rice, filtered clove cigarettes, purebred chicken eggs, and bananas.
