Abstract

In October 2022, six cities in Central Java experienced deflation of 0.12 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 112.64. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, three cities experienced deflation and three cities experienced inflation.

The main cause of deflation in October 2022 was the decline in prices of red chili, purebred chicken eggs, purebred chicken meat, cayenne pepper, and air transportation. The main restraints of deflation are rising prices of rice, recreation, gasoline, vehicle tariffs
