Wholesale Price Survey Enumeration

The government's role is crucial in price control. It needs to formulate effective policies to maintain commodity price stability. One approach is to closely monitor commodity price developments at various levels, particularly at the wholesaler (distributor or wholesaler) level. This monitoring can be done through the use of an accurate and representative indicator, the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), obtained from the Wholesale Price Survey (SHPB).

The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) is a key indicator used to illustrate the magnitude of commodity price changes at the wholesaler level. The WPI covers commodities produced both domestically and internationally, as long as they are marketed within a province. In other words, the WPI provides a snapshot of price dynamics at the wholesaler level across various regions in Indonesia.

The Wholesale Price Survey (SHPB) enumeration is conducted weekly, in the first week, the second week, and monthly. The February enumeration for rice added two different quality types to increase the variety of commodity qualities and better represent the diversity of rice sold in the Boyolali market. Enumeration supervision has been carried out to ensure that the SHPB data obtained is in accordance with the field/respondents' answers.
