November 30, 2020 | BPS Activities
In 2020, BPS
will carry out updating activities for rice mill listings (PIPA) and
Verification of Industrial Centers (VSI). The background of this activity is
that rice production data has been obtained from the conversion of rice
production. It is deemed necessary to calculate rice stock and production by
collecting data on rice milling businesses / companies. The last data
collection on rice milling was carried out in 2012, from the results of SE2016,
and the association confirmed that there was a tendency to decrease the number
of rice milling businesses. The purpose of updating PIPA is to obtain data on
the number of rice milling businesses / companies, the amount of grain milled
(input), the amount of rice produced (output) and the number of rice stocks in
the rice milling business / company.
Meanwhile,
Verification of Industrial Centers (VSI) aims to obtain an initial description
of the characteristics of Industrial Center activities such as: formal
organization, types of main products, the number of businesses in it and the
formation of frames for Micro and Small Industry Centers. Activities of
updating rice mill listings (PIPA) and Verification of Industrial Centers (VSI)
is implemented in all villages using CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal
Interviewing), while the application used is ICS built by BPS RI.
This
evaluation activity is used as a means of discussion and problem solving both
in the field and in the application, regarding the process of sending data from
the enumerator to the supervisor, which is often delayed. This event was attended
by all officers including 20 enumerators (15 statistical partners and 5 BPS
organic) and 8 supervisors, all of whom were organic from BPS Kab. Boyolali.
The
evaluation activity of updating rice mill listings (PIPA) and Verification of
Industrial Centers (VSI) was carried out face-to-face on November 30, 2020
while still implementing the health protocol, namely 3M: washing hands with
soap in running water before and after the event is over, maintaining distance
and wear a mask to avoid all participants from the Covid-19 virus.
