BRIEFING AND EVALUATION OF KSA PADDY 2020

BRIEFING AND EVALUATION OF KSA PADDY 2020

July 24, 2020 | BPS Activities

Data collection on integrated food crops with the Area Sample Framework (KSA) method is a new method developed by BPPT in collaboration with BPS in order to improve harvesting data collection methods that were previously based on the results of the eye of the data collection officer (eye estimated).

This method is carried out in a more objective and modern way by involving technological devices so that agricultural data collected is more accurate and timely. Data collection on integrated food crops using the Area Sample Framework (KSA) method was carried out in all regions in Indonesia and initially only included rice crops. In October 2018 BPS released data on national rice / rice production using the KSA method. With the release of the rice production data which is believed to be more accurate, it will encourage improvements to other strategic commodity production data, namely corn.

Every field officer every last 7 days every month has the duty to observe the rice growth phase and record the results of his observations by using an android mobile device that has been installed with the KSA application on each KSA segment that has been allocated. For Boyolali District alone there are 93 KSA Paddy segments observed each month.

Thursday, July 23, 2020 BPS Boyolali District held a briefing and evaluation of KSA Paddy activities in 2020 while continuing to implement health protocols that apply in the new normal era. This activity is very important to carry out because of the addition of new officers. In addition to the refreshing activity, on this occasion the signing of the integrity pact was also signed, some of which stated that each officer committed to conducting observations by complying with SOP guided by the health protocol, was able to complete the workload on 2 calendar days of the initial schedule each month and was willing to improve the results of observations incompatible / inconsistent and if necessary re-observing.

Furthermore, a field tryout was also carried out in the rice fields of Dlingo Village, Mojosongo Subdistrict near the task area of one of the officers to show the reality of the task in the field.
