Abstract

In September 2023, the combined inflation of six cities in Central Java was 0.41 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.59. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation.

The main cause of inflation in September 2023 was the increase in the prices of rice, gasoline, air transportation, mobile phone credit, and granulated sugar. The main restraint of inflation was the decrease in the prices of chicken eggs, red chilies, shallots, chicken meat, and cayenne pepper.

The calendar year inflation rate in September 2023 was 1.99 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2023 to September 2022) was 2.49 percent.
