Abstract
In September 2021 Surakarta City experienced inflation of 0.01 percent with a Consumer Price Index of 105.96. This inflation was caused by an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the consumer price index. Expenditure groups that experienced an increase in the price index were: clothing and footwear, which rose 0.01 percent, housing, water, electricity and household fuel increased 0.03 percent, equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance groups rose 0.44 percent, the health group rose 0.05 percent, the transportation group rose 0.20 percent, the information, communication and financial services group rose 0.01 percent, the education group rose 3.04 percent and the personal care and other services group rose 0.28 percent . In contrast, the food, beverage and tobacco group fell 1.07 percent and the recreation, sports and culture group fell 0.06 percent. Meanwhile, the food, beverage/restaurant supply group was relatively stable.
The inflation rate for the calendar year (January-September) 2021 is 1.29 percent, while the year on year inflation rate (September 2021 to September 2020) is 1.88 percent.
Of the 6 cities in Central Java Province whose inflation rates were calculated, in September 2021, there were 2 cities experiencing inflation. Inflation occurred in the city of Tegal by 0.02 percent and the city of Surakarta by 0.01 percent. On the other hand, 4 other cities experienced deflation. The largest deflation occurred in Semarang at 0.14 percent, followed by Purwokerto at 0.13 percent, Cilacap at 0.12 percent and Kudus at 0.03 percent.
Of the 90 national CPI cities, 34 cities experienced inflation and 56 cities experienced deflation. The city that experienced the highest inflation was Pangkal Pinang at 0.60 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Surakarta at 0.01 percent. On the other hand, the largest deflation occurred in Gorontalo at 0.90 percent and the smallest deflation in Palu at 0.01 percent.
