Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) of Central Java in 2024 increased compared to the previous year, reaching 73.87 or growing by 0.65 percent or increasing by 0.48 points compared to the achievement in 2023 which was 73.39.

In the dimension of longevity and healthy living, babies born in Central Java in 2024 have the hope of living to the age of 74.91 years, with an increase of 0.22 years compared to those born in the previous year.

In terms of education, children in Central Java aged 7 years and over in 2024 have the hope of enjoying education for 12.86 years or almost equivalent to the length of time to complete education to the level of high school or Diploma I. This figure increased by 0.01 years compared to 2023 which reached 12.85 years. In addition, the average length of schooling for the population aged 25 years and over also increased by 0.01 years, from 8.01 years in 2023 to 8.02 years in 2024. The dimension of a decent standard of living measured based on the average real expenditure per capita (adjusted) increased by 441 thousand rupiah (3.73 percent) compared to the previous year.
