Abstract

In September 2021, Central Java experienced a deflation of -0.10 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.00. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, four cities experienced deflation and two cities experienced inflation.
The main cause of deflation in Central Java in September 2021 was the decline in prices for broiler eggs, shallots, red chilies, cayenne pepper, and gold jewelry. The main barrier to deflation in Central Java is the increase in the price of academies/universities, cooking oil, filter kretek cigarettes, air transportation, and tempeh.
The September 2021 calendar year inflation rate is 0.46 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2021 to September 2020) is 1.28 percent.
