First Training of Desa Cantik 2025: Data Analysis and Pivot Tables

Boyolali, June 4, 2025 — The first training session of the Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik) or “Village that Loves Statistics” program for 2025 was held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the meeting room of Demangan Village Office, Sambi Subdistrict. The session focused on Data Analysis and featured Galuh Sekartadji as the resource person.

During the training, Galuh Sekartadji provided a practical session on how to create pivot tables using Microsoft Excel for the statistical agents of Demangan Village. The data used for hands-on practice included demographic data of Demangan Village such as population by age, gender, and type of occupation.

Pivot tables were introduced as powerful tools for processing and analyzing large and complex datasets. Participants learned about the many benefits of pivot tables, including the ability to quickly and dynamically summarize data, present information in a readable format, offer flexible data analysis, support decision-making, integrate with other features like filters and charts, automate calculations, and identify patterns or anomalies in the data.

This activity marked an important first step in strengthening data management capacity at the village level, in line with the Desa Cantik program’s main goal: to empower villages to become data-literate and capable of producing accurate and useful statistical information to support development planning.
