Boyolali, June 18, 2025 — The Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik) or “Village that Loves Statistics” program in Demangan Village, Sambi Subdistrict, entered its second training phase on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Held at the meeting room of the Demangan Village Office, the session focused on Infographics and Data Visualization, with Atiqoh Makarim Maharani as the instructor.
During the training, Demangan Village statistical agents received a comprehensive explanation on how to create informative and engaging infographics. The data used for the practice session came from the first training’s output, which included demographic data such as population by age group, occupation, and marital status.
Atiqoh explained that infographics are visual representations of information, data, or knowledge intended to communicate content quickly and clearly. Key benefits of infographics include enhancing understanding, capturing attention, and improving information retention.
The session covered essential steps in infographic creation: defining the topic, collecting data, designing the layout, visualizing the data, customizing elements and text, and adjusting the overall design. Design tips were also shared, such as keeping it simple and clear, using contrasting colors, choosing readable fonts, and effectively utilizing white space.
Participants were also introduced to various tools for creating infographics — from user-friendly platforms like Canva to more complex and customizable design tools. A live demonstration of creating an infographic in Canva guided participants through choosing a template, inserting relevant graphics, summarizing information, adding data visualizations through charts, including institutional logos if necessary, and citing data sources.
This activity aims to equip village statistical agents with the skills to present accurate data in a visually effective and easily understandable format — helping both the public and policymakers make informed decisions.
