The National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) is a survey conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) specifically designed to collect employment data. Sakernas is held twice a year, namely in February and August. To date, Sakernas has experienced various changes in terms of implementation time, estimation level, scope, methodology and questionnaires. Information collection regarding employment concepts based on the 13th International Conference of Labor Statisticians (ICLS) and ICLS-19 began at Sakernas February 2016. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sakernas August 2020 to February 2022, information regarding employment concepts from ICLS- 19 not collected. Starting from Sakernas February 2023, this information will be collected again. Sakernas February 2024 also implemented a questionnaire that refers to the concept of employment based on the International Labor Organization (ILO) Labor Force Survey (LFS) questionnaire module. Starting from Sakernas February 2024, data collection will be carried out using the computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) mode, namely the FASIH application, except for some areas in Papua Province which still use the Paper and Pencils Interviewing (PAPI) mode. In order to improve the February 2024 Sakernas census, several changes were made to the content and flow of questions on the E-Form compared to the February 2024 questionnaire.
