The tourism sector
is a potential sector to be developed as a source of regional income. Law
Number 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism states that the Implementation of Tourism
needs to increase the national budget to improve people's welfare, increase and
check opportunities for improvement and employment, encourage regional
development, improve and utilize tourism objects and attractions in Indonesia
and foster a sense of love for the land water and strengthen friendship between
nations. Tourism activities that can help, both those who want to invest and
those in need, who will attract the production of goods and services.
In an effort to
meet tourist demand, investment in transportation and communication,
hospitality and other conveniences is needed, the handicraft industry and the
consumer products industry, service industries, restaurant restaurants and
others. To get a complete picture of the types of businesses in Indonesia,
there needs to be a material business database, tourism evaluation and
planning. Therefore, it is necessary to do the necessary data in the business
sub-sector which has not yet been carried out data collection including Tourism
Transportation Services, Tourist Travel Services, MICE Enterprises, Tourism
Information Services Business, Tourism Consultancy Services, Tour Guide
Business, and SPA Business.
Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) conducts the Tourism Industry Survey which
aims to obtain data / information on the profile of companies / businesses in
the Tourism Industry and information on income and expenditure of tourism
industry companies / businesses. The series of Tourism Industry Survey
activities in Central Java province began with training on the 2nd to 4th May
2019 at Balemong Resort, Ungaran. The activity of data collection of the
Tourism Industry Survey is carried out until July 2019 while the processing of
the data is up to August 2019.
