Abstract

The total workforce in February 2022 was 20.76 million people, an increase of 1.93 million people compared to February 2021. With the Labor Force Participation Rate increasing by 2.65 percentage points, to 72.04 percent.

The February 2022 open unemployment rate was 5.75 percent, down 0.21 percentage point from February 2021.

The working population is 19.57 million people, an increase of 1.86 million people. The largest percentage increase was in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sector (0.79 percentage point). The sectors that experienced the biggest declines were Wholesale and Retail Trade, Car Repair and Maintenance, Motorcycles (-0.80 percentage point).
