Abstract

Based on the 2012 Forecast Figures II, Central Java rice production is estimated at 10.199 million tons of dry milled grain. This figure is 8.59 percent higher compared to the 2011 Fixed Figures of 9.391 million tons. The increase in this figure was due to an increase in the harvest area, namely from 1.72 million hectares in 2011 to 1.78 million hectares in 2012 or an increase of 3.19 percent. The increase in rice production was also influenced by an increase in productivity from 54.47 kw/ha in 2011 to 57.32 kw/ha.
