Abstract

In December 2008, Central Java experienced deflation of 0.40 percent with a consumer price index (CPI) of 111.78. Of the four SBH cities, three cities experienced deflation and one city experienced inflation. The highest deflation occurred in Surakarta City 0.65 percent with a CPI of 108.44 and the lowest deflation in Tegal City 0.22 percent with a CPI of 112.39, Semarang City as the capital of Central Java Province experienced deflation of 0.42 percent with a CPI of 112.66, while inflation occurred in Purwokerto City 0.17 percent with a CPI of 113.54.
