On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the Boyolali Regency Statistics Agency (BPS) Agriculture Team visited the Selo District Agricultural Center (BPP) to participate in a joint tiling of potatoes.
The results of this tiling will provide data and information for the Deputy Minister of Agriculture's visit to Selo on April 22, 2026, in conjunction with the launch of the "Beautiful Village" program. Given this importance, the Boyolali Regency Statistics Agency (BPS) is willing to assist with the tiling process, although BPS itself does not conduct tiling for potatoes. At least, the tiling process, following the SOP for tiling food crops, will yield results that are more or less consistent.
The tiling process was carried out in the Lor Gebyok field, west of SMP N 1 Selo. The tiling process was carried out in two locations because the 1,000-square-meter field used two types of potato seeds of different sizes, even though they were the same variety. Based on these tiling results, an estimated potato harvest for a 1,000-square-meter plot of land is 2.6 to 3.3 tons. The BPP Team considers this high yield reasonable, given the excellent soil quality and suitability for potato cultivation, supported by adequate fertilizer, maintenance, and weather conditions. However, some potato tubers are still susceptible to attack by the potato mole cricket pest, which causes some potato tubers to rot.
