The manufacturing industry sector has a significant contribution to the Indonesian economy, where the Indonesian economy is seen from the supply side (business sector) there is the manufacturing industry sector. This sector in terms of data collection is divided into processing industries with a workforce of more than 19, which are collected through a survey of large and medium industries (IBS). Meanwhile, for a workforce of less than 19, the survey was approached by micro and small industries (VIMK), both yearly and quarterly.
As connectivity, interaction, and boundaries between humans, machines, and other resources are increasingly converging through information and communication technology, the fourth revolution has been born. Like it or not, Indonesia as an inseparable part of world civilization will enter this era. For this reason, the government has declared five sectors to be the focus and 10 national priorities in order to encourage the national industry. On the other hand, the industrial sector already has a road map in the form of the National Industrial Development Master Plan (RIPIN), which includes placing small industries as contributors to the economy.
In order to maintain the quality of the Quarterly Micro Small Industry Survey (VIMK) data, the Central Java Provincial BPS will supervise this activity on 12-13 July 2022 in Boyolali Regency. Supervision was carried out by a young statistician functional officer of Central Java BPS Province, Dra. Chaju Ratna Latifa Dewi. This supervision activity is primarily to seek information regarding the VIMK sample which has a large share of output, the sample that has experienced a significant increase in production and the sample of businesses whose production volume is the same between months. Field supervision was carried out in three BS (Census Blocks), namely in Klego and Kec. Boyolali as many as 4 IMK businesses.
A lot of information was obtained from this supervision activity, including related to the constraints of raw materials and fuel, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, marketing, and so on. From this supervision activity, it is hoped that the quality of Quarterly VIMK data can be maintained and enumerators will be more observant in digging up information and phenomena from IMK business.
