Tourism is a national priority in the 2015-2019 RPJM. Gradually, from year to year in the 2015-2019 RPJM period, tourism development is prioritized and given targets for achievement. In the final 2019 of the RPJM for the leadership period of President Joko Widodo, the target of visiting foreign tourists was 20 million, domestic tourists were 275 million people.
From the tourism sector, it is targeted to generate 260 trillion in foreign exchange. In 2017, the tourism sector was consistently a priority program, namely Indonesia's tourism development "Wonderful Indonesia". Tourism is one of the 5 (five) priority development sectors, namely food, energy, maritime, tourism, industrial estates and Special Economic Zones (SEZ), as stated in the RKP.
Tourism is a strategic sector and is a media for integration of programs and activities between development sectors, so tourism is very reasonable and set to become a leading development. The purpose of leading development is to be able to drive the nation's economy. As stated by the Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya, Tourism is the key to development, prosperity and happiness. At least there are several reasons for the tourism sector to be encouraged.
To find out the condition of tourism and the number of domestic tourists in Indonesia, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Ministry of Tourism collaborate in organizing an Archipelago Tourist Survey. Archipelago Tourist Survey has been started from 2017, held every three months (quarterly) simultaneously at the district level. No exception also in Boyolali Regency. There are two phases of the Archipelago Tourist Survey data collection, namely updating the list of travel households and enumeration. The number of samples of the Archipelago Tourist Survey in Boyolali Regency are 80 Census Blocks spread across various sub-districts. After updating the list of travel households, a sample of eligible households will be taken, namely those who travel within 3 months. The selected sample will be recorded further using the enumeration questionnaire. Archipelago Traveler Survey Activities for the first quarter of 2019 took place in April. Of the 20 Census Blocks which were sampled in Boyolali Regency, 60 samples of eligible travel households were selected. The implementing officer is a statistical partner who has received training.
It is hoped that the results of the Archipelago
Tourist Survey can help the government to know the development of our
archipelago tourists and can determine further policy directions to increase
Indonesian tourism.Related News
